Description
The Packer is responsible for efficiently and accurately preparing meat products for packaging and distribution. This role includes handling fresh, frozen, and processed meat products, ensuring they are properly packaged, labeled, and meet our quality standards.
Requirements
- Sound Secondary Education.
- At least 1-2 years’ experience in a meat processing or packaging environment.
- Ability to work in cold environments and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work shifts that fall between 8am and 7pm, Monday – Saturday
Responsibilities
- Packaging and Labeling:
- Accurately weigh, package, and label meat products according to specifications.
- Inspect products for quality and appearance, ensuring only high-standard items are packaged.
- Quality Control:
- Follow strict food safety and quality control guidelines throughout the packaging process.
- Conduct visual inspections for defects, damage, or foreign objects in the product.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist in tracking inventory levels of packaging materials and report when stock is low.
- Maintain accurate records of packaged quantities and product batch numbers.
- Equipment Operation:
- Operate packing equipment safely and report any malfunctions to supervisors.
- Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas according to health and safety standards.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other team members to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to maintain workflow efficiency.
