Description
The successful candidate would be responsible for safely maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment, ensuring logs are completed, reporting faults, and following instructions from supervisors. They must strictly adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies, participate in risk assessments, and promote safety initiatives like the STOP system.
Requirements
· Successful completion of secondary education
· Certified motorman
· Proven experience in mechanical, marine or related preferably in an offshore or industrial setting
· Active certificate in T-BOSIET, CA-EBS
· Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with extended hours
· Participate in both onshore and offshore training throughout their employment to enhance skills and achieve performance targets
Responsibilities
· Fully committed to working safely and ensuring crew safety.
· Assist Supervisor in identifying jobs needing a Risk Assessment.
· Participate with Supervisor in conducting Risk Assessments.
· Perform duties assigned by Chief Engineer/Senior Mechanic.
· Conduct operational maintenance, planned maintenance, and repairs on mechanical equipment in Machinery Spaces.
· Be familiar with machinery and systems to restore essential services safely in emergencies.
· Complete Engine Room, propulsion logs, and maintenance records as required.
· Notify Chief Engineer of spare parts, materials, or service needs.
· Report equipment faults to Chief Engineer/Senior Mechanic.
· Analyze and treat the potable water system.
· Maintain cleanliness in Control Room, machinery spaces, and workshops.
· Perform any additional duties assigned by the Chief Engineer.
