The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso, and other beverages while providing excellent customer service. Requirements

Desired Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Qualifications:

  • No prior barista experience required – training will be provided.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in food handling and safety (mandatory).

Experience:

  • Previous experience in customer service, food service, or retail (preferred but not required).
  • Any experience in a fast-paced environment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso, cappuccino, lattes, and specialty beverages, following Java Coffee Bar’s recipes and quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment.
  • Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service, including educating them on coffee options and menu items.
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist in restocking inventory, monitoring supplies, and reporting shortages.
  • Process payments using the POS system and handle cash, credit/debit card transactions.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with team members to ensure smooth café operations.
  • Adhere to company policies, including hygiene and uniform standards.

Remuneration/Benefits

Remuneration & Job Benefits

Remuneration:

  • Starting Salary (No Experience): $90,000 GYD per month
  • Experienced Baristas: $100,000 – $120,000 GYD per month, depending on experience and skill level.
  • Performance-Based Increases: Salary adjustments may be granted based on skills, performance, and length of service.
