ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES

The role Accounting provides quality and timely accounting and support services to the company and its subsidiaries.

Requirements

Criteria:

  • ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification; or 5+ years of relevant experience and training.
  • Advanced understanding of financial record keeping, bookkeeping, and accounting principles.

Responsibilities

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Financial Reporting: Manages corporate financial reporting processes (monthly, quarterly, annual) ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness.
  • Compliance: Ensures accounting practices comply with IFRS and USGAAP requirements.
  • Accounting Processes: Manages financial accounting processes including journal entries, trial balance, account reconciliations, and financial report analysis.
  • Operational Integration: Works with operations to ensure all activities are reflected in financial statements.
  • Internal Controls: Ensures compliance with internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley standards.
  • Accounting Research: Performs research on accounting treatments for unusual transactions and monitors changing guidance.
  • Intercompany Charges: Reviews and settles intercompany charges.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Reconciles balance sheet accounts, including inventory and accruals.
  • Interconnect Billing: Analyzes interconnect billing and follows up on receivables/payables.
  • Audit Support: Supports external auditors during reviews and audits.
  • Cross-Functional Projects: Leads or participates in cross-functional projects, managing tasks and timelines.
  • Guidance and Support: Provides accounting guidance to the department and business partners.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Prepares ad hoc financial reports and special projects as requested.
  • Team Development: Trains and evaluates direct reports to enhance performance.

  • Cash Management: Prepares cash and bank balances reports, manages foreign currency purchases, and prepares cash flow forecasts.
  • Bank Liaison: Liaises with financial institutions and ensures bank account access and signatories are updated.
