VACANCY FOR BUILDING ENGINEER

A vacancy exists for Building Engineer, within the National Insurance Scheme – Guyana.

The position of Building Engineer is permanent, pensionable and an attractive remuneration is offered.

POSITION SUMMARY

A Building Engineer of the National Insurance Scheme – Guyana is responsible for managing the safety of the building as well as oversees the building
maintenance, planning, inspection and function of the Scheme.

Duties also involve:

• Design and preparation of plans

• Remedial Works

• Preparation of planning applications

• Fire Safety and Health Safety

• Construction Management

• Quantity Surveying

• Enforcement of breaches of the “Building Regulations’ and related “Building &
  Fire’ Legislation, including ‘law court’ proceeding.

• The preparation of Procurement Documents

• Preparation of estimates

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants should possess at least a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience. Knowledge of estimates, and bid document preparation will be an asset.
