ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

Applicants should possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or completion of at least Level II ACCA or the equivalent level qualification recognised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Guvana and three (3) years of relevant work experience or
• A Diploma in Accountancy from the University of Guyana with 4 years of relevant work experience

• At least three (3) years relevant experience in an intermediary role with at least two (2) years in a supervisory position. Experience in Government Accounting will be an asset.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Quickbooks or other similar accounting software packages
• Must be able to prepare Statutory Financial Requirements
• Must be able to maintain accounting controls by follow ing established policies and procedures
• Strongly detail-oriented with a heavy focus on maintaining accuracy and integrity of accounts
• Ability to multitask across different types of accounting-related tasks
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must have high levels of integrity and confidentiality
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• The successful applicant will be responsible for providing support to management in the supervision and execution of the day-to-day financial operations of the Commission
