Description
The role of an Accounts Clerk is to provide support to the accounting department by performing various clerical tasks related to financial record-keeping and data entry. The Accounts Clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, assisting with bookkeeping tasks, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the accounting processes.
Requirements
- CAT qualified
- Proven experience as an accounting clerk or in a similar role.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial terminology.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Financial Data Entry: Accurately enter financial transactions, such as invoices, payments, and journal entries, into the accounting system.
- Accounts Receivable: Prepare and send invoices to customers, monitor accounts receivable balances, and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Accounts Payable: Process supplier invoices, verify their accuracy, and ensure timely payments.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Update and maintain the general ledger by organizing and filing financial documents and supporting documentation.
- Support Auditing Process: Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits.
- Communication: Collaborate and communicate effectively with other team members, departments, and external stakeholders to resolve financial queries or issues.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform general administrative duties, including filing, photocopying, and organizing financial documents.
