Description
The Shift Supervisor during their assigned shift is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the meat center. The role requires ensuring that production targets are met, staff are efficiently managed, and all safety and sanitation protocols are strictly followed. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, knowledge of meat processing, inventory management and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
Requirements
- Certificate in Management.
- At least 5 passes (1-3) at CXC inclusive of Mathematics and English.
- Minimum of 2-3 years proven supervisory experience.
- Valid food handler’s certificate.
- Basic knowledge of meat products.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management, cash handling and reconciliation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work shifts that fall between 8am and 7pm, Monday – Saturday.
Responsibilities
Inventory Management
Monitor stock levels. Coordinate with relevant personnels to ensure timely restocking and order fulfillment. Log all wastage.
Reporting
Maintain accurate shift reports detailing production output, inventory levels, staffing performance, and any incidents or irregularities that occurs.
Production Oversight
Ensure that production goals are met, and quality standards are maintained. Oversee the processing, packaging, and distribution of meat products.
Cash Handling & End-of-Shift Procedures:
Check off and reconcile the cash drawer at the end of each shift, ensuring that all funds are accounted for and balanced.
Report any discrepancies in cash handling immediately to management.
Make certain cashier/s are given correct float at the beginning of every shift.
Problem Solving
Address any issues that arise during the shift, such as customer related issues, equipment malfunctions or staffing shortages, and find immediate solutions to minimize downtime and increase customer satisfaction.
Training & Development
Provide ongoing training and guidance to team members to enhance their skills and ensure they understand operational procedures.
Coordination with Delivery Drivers
Collaborate with delivery drivers to schedule pickups and ensure timely deliveries of products to customers.
Verify delivery orders and ensure accuracy before dispatching.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Ensure that all employees follow proper protocols to minimize risks, hazards and wastage.
