Description
The Civil Engineer must be a detail-oriented individual who will be responsible for the
preparation of estimates, drawings, designs, material takeoffs, and other construction related
activities being undertaken by an emerging Construction Firm. The Civil Engineer will be
responsible for maintaining accurate construction Work Programmes, construction material
inventory, and construction budgets, and must ensure compliance with engineering standards
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (graduate), OR a Diploma in Civil Engineering and at
least two years’ experience in monitoring construction activities, AutoCAD, and preparing
estimates.
2. Proficiency in using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
3. Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
4. Excellent attention to detail is required for monitoring of construction works
5. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skill
Responsibilities
The main duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Prepare bid documents in keeping with public and private procurement laws and regulations.
2. Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials and labour activities.
3. Prepare detailed material takeoff reports.
4. Develop AutoCAD drawings and complete Bills of Quantities for Clients.
5. Visit and monitor construction sites as required and as directed by the Employer.
6. Prepare daily and monthly construction reports as directed by the Employer.
7. Prepare payment requests and track outstanding payments with clients.
8. Recommend equipment requirements for active and forecasted construction contracts.
9. Any other duties related to the Engineering and construction operations of the business.
The main responsibilities include:
1. Manage day-to-day construction activities for all active construction sites.
2. Prepare weekly, and monthly Construction Progress reports.
3. Develop and monitor construction schedules.
4. Supervise the operations on all active construction sites from commencement to closure.
5. Handle tax compliance and prepare necessary documentation for audits.
6. Monitor construction schedules, forecasting, and budgeting to support business growth, with
particular focus on preparing payment requests based on measured works
7. Collaborate with management to provide engineering insights for strategic decision-making.
