Description
The OHSE Officer is responsible for providing service consistent with established and prescribed standards to ensure overall customer satisfaction and company efficiency. You will support the ongoing development, maintenance and training on safety and environmental programmes to maintain compliance to regulatory occupational safety and health standards.
Requirements
·Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related/equivalent field
· 2+ years of experience in professional safety/loss prevention and control or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
·Knowledge of OSH, GEA, EPA and applicable regulatory agencies.
· Ability to train all levels of the organization
·Must have a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine job safety analyses, building safety inspections and reviews, risk assessments, emergency action plans and response programmes.
- Assist in maintaining safety guidelines, procedures and policies.
- Assist in ensuring and monitoring regulatory issues (i.e GEA, EPA, Fire, etc)
- Able to interpret and decipher environmental permit requirements.
- Report safety and environmental issues to the Lead Occupational Health Safety and Environmental Officer.
- Travel to off-site locations to conduct inspections and training on a scheduled basis.
