MovieTowne Guyana is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Supervisor to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. This role includes responsibility for payroll processing, daily sales reporting, accounts management, and financial compliance. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations while contributing to the overall success of the organization through effective leadership and collaboration.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

  • ACCA Level 2 or equivalent qualification is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, local tax regulations, NIS processes, and accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  1. Financial Management & Reporting
  • Prepare and review accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Monitor and report on daily sales, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Provide support for budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to aid strategic decision-making.
  1. Payroll Processing
  • Manage and supervise payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with local labor laws and tax regulations.
  • Address payroll-related queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  1. Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and payments.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies with vendors, customers, and internal departments.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage banking transactions to maintain operational liquidity.
  1. Compliance & Auditing
  • Ensure adherence to local tax laws, NIS processes, accounting standards, and company policies.
  • Prepare and provide necessary documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Identify and mitigate risks within the financial operations.
  1. Daily Operations & Oversight
  • Review and verify daily sales reports for accuracy and consistency.
  • Manage petty cash and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
  1. Leadership & Team Management
  • Supervise the accounting team, and providing guidance.
  • Allocate tasks effectively to ensure smooth workflow and high productivity.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment within the team.
  1. Process Improvement & Systems Management
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within the accounting department.
  • Ensure the effective use of accounting software and tools for streamlined operations.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging financial technologies.
