The Head Cook will oversee and manage all kitchen operations at the mining site, ensuring the preparation of high-quality meals for staff and contractors. This role is responsible for meal planning, maintaining food safety standards, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring cost-effective and efficient food service delivery in a remote or industrial setting.

Requirements

  • Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a professional cook, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/head cook role.
  • Experience working in remote locations, industrial kitchens, or large-scale catering is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare nutritious and well-balanced meals for all shifts (e.g., breakfast, lunch, dinner).
  • Ensure food quality and presentation meet company standards
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, including cooks, assistants, and support workers.
  • Assign daily tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Monitor food inventory and manage supply orders in a cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure the safety of kitchen equipment and report any malfunctions.
  • Train staff on the proper use of equipment and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with workplace safety guideline
