PUMP TECHNICIAN – The Guyana Oil Company Limited

Description

The Pump Technician engages in hands on maintenance, trouble shooting and service and repair work on pumps at all of the company’s sites and service stations.

Requirements

• Technical Institute Diploma or equivalent certification in Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge on general equipment maintenance; mechanical, electro-mechanical and pumping systems and pump maintenance
• Prior work experience in same or similar capacity is highly desirable
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and application software to general service reports
• Ability to perform service activities and work with a diverse team at varying locations.

Responsibilities

Primary duties includes:

• Interfaces with service station, terminal and fuel depot personnel to perform hands-on shop and/or on-site pump trouble shooting maintenance, testing and repairs to pump
• Perform hands on shop work, on site disassembly, inspection, cleaning and re-assembly of pumps and other mechanical equipment
• Ensure materials used are compliant with manufacturer specification
• Interpret schematics for assembly, repair and assembly as required including completion of applicable quality documentation
• Performs failure assessments and make recommendation to supervisor as required
• Routine safety inspection and observation
