COMPACTOR OPERATOR – Cevons Waste Management Inc.

Description

The Compactor Operator is responsible for operating heavy machinery designed to compress and compact materials such as soil, gravel, asphalt, or waste in construction, roadwork, or landfill environments. This role requires attention to safety, equipment maintenance, and adherence to project specifications.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating compacting equipment or similar heavy machinery.
• Understanding of soil mechanics, compaction techniques, and related project requirements.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• Valid operator’s license or heavy machinery certification (if required by local regulations).
  Work Environment:
  • Outdoor worksites such as construction sites, roadways, or landfills.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
  • Requires standing, sitting, and operating equipment for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation:
  • Operate compactors, rollers, or other heavy equipment effectively and safely.
  • Achieve desired compaction levels for construction, road paving, or waste management projects.
• Equipment Maintenance:
  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on compacting equipment.
  • Report any malfunctions, repairs, or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Safety Compliance:
  • Follow all workplace safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents.
  • Maintain awareness of other workers, vehicles, and equipment in the area.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  • Keep accurate records of compaction activities, equipment usage, and project progress.
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding any delays or challenges encountered.
