Description

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the effective planning, execution, and management of repairs and maintenance for generators, machinery, and other heavy equipment. Their primary objective is to maximize production uptime while prioritizing the safe and efficient operation of all equipment. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance, and executing repairs promptly to reduce equipment downtime, ensuring the smooth functioning of operations.

Requirements

• This role requires technical expertise in mechanical systems as well as a strong commitment to safety and efficiency.
• A minimum of 3 years work experience.
• Be the holder of a valid Drivers License, inclusive truck.

Responsibilities

• Performing regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on heavy machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues with generators, graders, loaders, drills, heavy trucks, trailer/tractor, excavators, and other equipment.
• Developing and implementing maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Ensuring that all repairs and maintenance tasks are carried out safely, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
• Maintaining detailed logs of repairs, inspections, and service activities for compliance and tracking purposes.
• Coordinating with the operations team to plan and schedule maintenance activities around production schedules to minimize disruptions.
