VALVE TECHNICIAN – Sure Gig Inc

Description

The Valve Technician is responsible for disassembling, inspecting, testing, and reassembling valves per customer and manufacturer specifications. Tasks include documenting valve data, identifying defects, following safety protocols, and maintaining accurate records throughout the repair process. Ensures proper use of PPE, keeps work areas clean, and supports quality control at each stage.

Requirements

•     High school diploma or equivalent
•     2 years mechanical or related experience preferred, experience operating forklifts 
•     Familiarity with hand tools and lighter pneumatic/electric tools
•     Specific experience with valve and/or other process instrumentation equipment disassembly
•     Ability to read customer specification sheets. May have to read schematic drawings
•     Ability to read and interpret assembly manuals (IOM’s).
•     Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
•     Must be able to work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold.

Responsibilities

•     Document valve data from manufacturers tags / data plates on to valve write up sheet.
•     Compare valve data to customer supplied specification sheets.
•     Report any discrepancies to repair coordinator for resolution prior to giving repair packet to data entry.
•     Position and secure valve to pre-test stand and record pre-test results on valve write up sheet.
•     Place valve(s) in staging area with MSDS sheet.
•     Disassemble valve components in accordance with manufacturers’ disassembly procedures, work orders, and customer specifications.
•     Place bodies and valve components in specified job / tote boxes.
•     Document any visually notable defects or abnormalities detected at the time of tear down
•     Clean bodies and valve components with appropriate cleaning solution or abrasive.
•     Paint valves per customer requirements
•     Follow safety procedures and regulations.
•     Lift, load, and move supplies and finish products between storage and work area.
