Chief Electrical Engineer

Demerara Distillers Limited and Subsidiaries (DDL) is seeking applications from interested persons with the requisite qualifications and experience, to fill the position of Chief Electrical Engineer.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee the Group’s electrical infrastructure and power generation assets.

• Ensure clean, reliable, and cost-effective power supply to all production units.

• Lead the integration of renewable and backup energy systems, including BESS and PV projects.

• Develop and enforce electrical engineering standards, maintenance programs, and safety compliance.

• Provide strategic guidance on capital investments, system upgrades, and long-term energy planning.

Applicants must possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering.

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in industrial/manufacturing power systems.

• Proven expertise in high, medium, and low-voltage networks, generation, and energy storage systems.

• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Professional registration or equivalent certification will be an asset.
