Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing the staff of the Merchandising Department in the areas of Linden, Essequibo, Georgetown, West Demerara, East Bank Demerara and Berbice.
- Responsible for the distribution of Merchandising and Promotional items (posters, freezers, signs, etc.) in Regions 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 10.
- Provides assistance to the Sales and Distribution customer base (businesses) developed by Sterling Products Limited.
- Co-operate with the Sales Department to develop and implement new sales strategies.
- Responsible for maintaining merchandising and promotional equipment of the Company whether placed at customers or in the Company and account for the same as well.
- Co-ordinate the Merchandising staff to broaden the impact of the marketing and promotional activities, undertaken by the Company to increase the sale of products and services.
- Provide support and assistance during the creation of new promotional messages and campaigns.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with new and existing customers in all regions of the country that the company does business.
- Work closely with staff and external clients to minimize conflicts and foster cohesiveness.
- Provide assistance and support during major events sanctioned by Sterling Products Limited.
- Assist in the gathering of data for Sterling Products Limited for market research, retail store audits and distribution services as required.
- Preparation and submission of reports necessary for strategic decision making on a timely and consistent manner.
- Compliance with all Company policies and rules.
Requirements
- Diploma in Marketing, Retail Sales or Business Management.
- At least 2 years of experience in any of these areas (Merchandising, Marketing or Retail Sales).
- Excellent Coordination, Communication and People Management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MOS).
- Must own a vehicle and have a valid Driver’s License.
- Must be flexible to travel to the Company’s Merchandising routes.
