Nurse Aides assist registered nurses with basic patient care including bathing, feeding, repositioning patients, and monitoring vital signs. The role requires physical stamina and compassion, as shifts often run 8-12 hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
How is the work culture and what expectations do private hospitals in Guyana have for Nurse Aides?
Private hospitals in Guyana typically expect punctuality, professional appearance in uniform, and respectful communication with patients and staff. Teamwork is essential, and you may be expected to adapt quickly to rotating shifts based on staffing needs.
What career progression opportunities exist for Nurse Aides working in Guyanese healthcare?
With experience, Nurse Aides can advance to senior aide positions or specialise in areas like operating theatre assistance or paediatric care.
