ACCOUNTANT

Guyana Industrial Minerals Inc. is seeking to recruit an Accountant who will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate levels of internal control exist within the accounting systems and processes.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

• Participate in, and perform, those financial accounting duties as part of the Month and Year-end Close Process in the preparation of the Monthly and Year-end financial statements, and to assist the Senior Financial Accountant in the execution of these duties.
• Enters signed off Production Information into the Deferred Stripping, Deferred Expense, ARO and Inventory Model
• Updates and maintains the Fixed Assets Register
• Pronto Month End Reconciliations in accordance with Month End Close Schedule
• Pronto review when irrcgularities/incorrcct entries arc done and investigate and correct same
• Any other accounting related duties reasonably expected of this position.

Required:

• Must have knowledge and at least 5 years prior experience of accounting function activities routinely conducted in an accounting environment, such as financial close duties in the preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, disbursements, monthly reconciliations, etc.
• Must be pursuing, or possess, Level 2 ACCA (or ACM A or C A).
• Proficiency in the use of M icrosoft Office.
• Knowledge of an established ERP system is required.
