Description
The Driver will ensure safely and efficiently transport goods, or materials from
one location to another while complying with traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Possess a sound primary education and hold a valid goods vehicle driving licence for at least 2 years.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safe product handling, packing, and operating machinery in high-level racks.
- Trained in the use and basic maintenance of mechanical handling equipment.
- Physically fit to lift, pack, and stack heavy items; have experience in a warehousing environment (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Adhere to Health and Safety practices to prevent injury to self or others. Wear
required safety clothing and boots at all times while in the Distribution Centre. Handle
products carefully to avoid damage and ensure safety. - Operate the company goods vehicle safely and legally, meeting agreed timelines for products transfers between locations and deliveries to customers.
- Perform routine light maintenance on equipment and complete the daily maintenance
checklist, submitting it to a Supervisor/Manager. - Report any mechanical defects to the Supervisor or Manager immediately.
- Ensure goods for customer collection are properly checked, wrapped and securely
loaded before leaving the Distribution Centre. Consistently deliver customers service that exceeds expectations and refer any queries or complaints to the appropriate supervisor or manager. - Share responsibility for achieving Distribution Centre goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs),
with a strong focus on accurate stock management and on-time deliveries. - Perform any other duties deemed reasonable at any given time.
