Seeking a Senior IT Manager to lead IT administration and infrastructure operations, covering systems administration, networking, security systems, and remote management. This is a highly autonomous, hands-on role – the person will be building out most of this infrastructure from the ground up , not maintaining an existing setup. Key Responsibilities

  • Systems Administration – Manage and maintain Windows Server and/or Linux server environments
  • Oversee patching, updates, and system hardening
  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and user/access management
  • Manage virtualization platforms and backup/disaster recovery systems
  • Networking – Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls) – largely from scratch
  • Manage VPN infrastructure for secure remote access
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • Establish network documentation and topology diagrams where none currently exist
  • Security & Surveillance – Install, configure, and maintain IP security camera systems and NVR/DVR infrastructure
  • Design network segmentation and cabling plans for camera/security systems as a new build-out
  • Implement cybersecurity best practices (firewalls, endpoint protection, access controls) from the ground up
  • Conduct periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Remote Management & Support – Select, deploy, and manage RMM (remote monitoring and management) tools
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support across sites
  • Establish helpdesk operations and escalation processes

Requirements

  • 5+ years in IT administration/management, with senior or lead experience
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and independently build IT infrastructure with minimal oversight – this role requires someone who can design and implement systems from scratch, not just operate existing ones
  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL)
  • Networking expertise (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, VPN protocols)
  • Experience installing and managing IP camera/CCTV systems
  • Familiarity with RMM/remote support tools
  • Relevant certifications a plus (CompTIA Network+/Security+, CCNA, MCSA, RHCSA)
  • Strong troubleshooting, prioritization, and project management skills
  • Comfortable making architecture and vendor decisions independently
