Seeking a Senior IT Manager to lead IT administration and infrastructure operations, covering systems administration, networking, security systems, and remote management. This is a highly autonomous, hands-on role – the person will be building out most of this infrastructure from the ground up , not maintaining an existing setup. Strong ownership, independent judgment, and self-direction are essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Systems Administration – Manage and maintain Windows Server and/or Linux server environments
- Oversee patching, updates, and system hardening
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and user/access management
- Manage virtualization platforms and backup/disaster recovery systems
- Networking – Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls) – largely from scratch
- Manage VPN infrastructure for secure remote access
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Establish network documentation and topology diagrams where none currently exist
- Security & Surveillance – Install, configure, and maintain IP security camera systems and NVR/DVR infrastructure
- Design network segmentation and cabling plans for camera/security systems as a new build-out
- Implement cybersecurity best practices (firewalls, endpoint protection, access controls) from the ground up
- Conduct periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Remote Management & Support – Select, deploy, and manage RMM (remote monitoring and management) tools
- Provide remote and on-site technical support across sites
- Establish helpdesk operations and escalation processes
Requirements
- 5+ years in IT administration/management, with senior or lead experience
- Proven ability to work autonomously and independently build IT infrastructure with minimal oversight – this role requires someone who can design and implement systems from scratch, not just operate existing ones
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL)
- Networking expertise (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, VPN protocols)
- Experience installing and managing IP camera/CCTV systems
- Familiarity with RMM/remote support tools
- Relevant certifications a plus (CompTIA Network+/Security+, CCNA, MCSA, RHCSA)
- Strong troubleshooting, prioritization, and project management skills
- Comfortable making architecture and vendor decisions independently
