Dispatch Clerk – Giftland Group of Companies

DESCRIPTION

The Dispatch Clerk is mainly responsible for ensuring all goods are checked off, are in goods condition and loaded on vehicles in a safe and timely manner to ensure the customer satisfaction.

REQUIREMENTS

Key Skills and Experience:

• Very strong leadership skills including team facilitation, training, and motivation.
• Very strong analytical skills and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of basic dispatch operations and stacking techniques.
• Able to handle multiple tasks, organize, and coordinate activities effectively in complex situations.
• At least three (1) year of experience in dispatch operations; or,
• Any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education

Educational Requirements:

• Five (5) subjects CXC, inclusive of English and Math

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist in picking/assembling of goods.
2. Examine the condition of goods to be delivered.
3. Checks off goods to be delivered against Invoice.
4. Report any discrepancy with the Dispatch Clerk L4/Dispatcher.
5. Ensure that all merchandise is being loaded properly into the delivery van as per international stacking standards.
6. Maintain log book for arrival/departure time for drivers
7. Maintain daily log book for all goods delivered.
8. Updating vehicles maintenance schedule.
9. Filing of all invoices received from the Drivers/delivery clerks
10. Handles goods with care and abides by the company health and safety practices.
11. Assist in delivery of goods to customers.
12. Overlook porters assigned to the dispatch department.
13. Prepares internal request form for items to use in the dispatch department.

REMUNERATION

Salaries and Benefits are based on Foodmaxx existing salary scheme, and benefits are in accordance with the laws of Guyana and the policies of Foodmaxx. These are all provided for in the Contract of employment.
