We are seeking a professional English/chinese Translator to support overseas construction and engineering projects. The successful candidate will provide written and oral translation services for technical documents, meetings, negotiations, site activities, and daily communication between local and international staff.The ideal candidate should have strong English and Chinese communication skills, excellent written translation ability, and familiarity with construction, civil engineering, and infrastructure terminology.

Key Responsibilities

  • 1. Provide written and oral translation for project-related documents, including contracts, drawings, technical specifications, reports, correspondence, and other engineering materials.
  • 2. Participate in business negotiations, site meetings, and communication with supervisors, clients, project owners, and other stakeholders, providing on-site interpretation when required.
  • 3. Translate tender documents, construction plans, project completion documents, and official correspondence while ensuring accurate use of technical terminology.
  • 4. Support daily communication between Chinese and local/international employees and assist with translation of work-related documents and materials.
  • 5. Assist the project team with drafting, translating, reviewing, and proofreading official documents, reports, and meeting minutes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Translation, English, Chinese, Foreign Languages, or a related field. TEM-8 certification or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of technical English related to construction engineering and civil engineering, with familiarity with terminology commonly used in infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent written translation skills, strong attention to detail, and fluent oral communication. Must be capable of independently providing interpretation during site activities and business meetings.
  • Previous experience in overseas construction projects, large construction companies, or similar organizations is preferred.
  • Responsible, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment. Strong cross-cultural communication skills are required. Driving experience or knowledge is preferred.
  • Outstanding recent graduates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree are also encouraged to apply.
