DESCRIPTION
As an HSSE Officer at Muneshwers Limited, your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and monitor health, safety, security, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of employees, protection of company assets, and compliance with relevant regulations. You will work closely with various departments and stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 5 subjects CXC, inclusive of Maths and English Language, Grades 1-3.
- Certificate in Occupational Health, Safety, or Environmental field of study
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Previous work experience with health, safety, and environmental matters would be an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Good analytical skills. Ability to analyze data and compile same into usable material and reports.
- Public speaking skills – ability to give presentations and present oral reports.
- Ability to work harmoniously and persuasively with managerial, professional and non- managerial colleagues.
- Demonstrate sound work ethics.
- Pleasant personality and customer service oriented.
- Ability to work long, flexible hours
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Policy Development: Develop, update, and communicate health, safety, security, and environmental policies and procedures in line with local and international regulations and best practices.
- Compliance: Ensure the company’s compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to HSSE.
- Training and Education: Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on HSSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, near misses, and security breaches, and prepare reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential hazards in the workplace, assess risks, and implement controls to mitigate them.
- Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate drills to ensure preparedness in case of emergencies.
- Environmental Management: Implement environmental management programs to reduce the company’s environmental footprint and promote sustainability.
- Security: Oversee security measures to protect company assets, employees, and customers, including access control, CCTV, and security personnel.
- Auditing and Inspections: Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with HSSE standards and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on HSSE performance to senior management and regulatory authorities as required.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in HSSE practices and work with relevant teams to implement enhancements.
- Any other duties assigned by HSSE Manager.
