JUNIOR TREASURER – Giftland Office Max

Overall Responsibilities: 

The Treasurer is responsible for collecting cash and balancing Cashiers at the end of each day. The incumbent must be confidential and professional at all times and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements/Specifications

Education:

·  At least five (5) subjects CXC, inclusive of Grades 1 to 3 in Mathematics, English and Accounts.

· Certificate in Accounting/Finance would be an asset

Experience:

·  Three (3) or more years’ experience as a Cashier and at least one (1) year in the accounting field in a finance department.

·  Experience in the retail industry not necessary, but would be an asset

·  Experience using an integrated software is considered an asset

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

1. Ensure the Treasury safe is balanced at the opening and closing of each shift, the report updated and any discrepancies reported to the Treasury Supervisor

2. Issue of change and collection of drops from the cashier department with all necessary documentation processed

3. Balance all cash registers at the end of the day and post drawers( Cashiers & Cambio)

4. Prepare the daily treasury report accurately before submission to treasury supervisor for verification

5. Filing of all treasury reports in a timely manner

6. Hold for finance after hours and on weekends where necessary(emergency cases only)

7. Any other duties reasonably assigned

Salaries and Benefits

Salaries and Benefits are based on Giftland existing salary scheme, and benefits are in accordance with the laws of Guyana and the policies of Giftland. These are all provided for in the Contract of employment.
