Legal Assistant / Office Administrator

Demerara Distillers Limited & Subsidiaries (DDL) is seeking applications from interested persons with the requisite qualifications and experience, for the position of Legal Assistant / Office Administrator.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Applying for and securing licenses, registrations, permits, insurances for the activities of the Group
  • Developing and maintaining a filing system and carrying out administrative duties
  • Researching laws and publications to assist with the preparation of reports and legal advice
  • Managing and maintaining intellectual property rights register
  • Liaising with Insurers & Brokers to file and pursue claims
  • Handling internal and external communication including communication with Regulators, Governmental Agencies, Directors, Shareholders, Share Registrar and External Counsel

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in Law or Management
  • At least 3 years’ experience as Legal Assistant or employed in a similar post in a law firm, corporate or other legal department
  • Familiarity with corporate and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
