MACHINIST/LATHE OPERATOR – MachineTech Guyana Inc.

The Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating lathes to produce precision parts according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience operating lathes and milling machines, interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring the quality of finished products.

Experience and Skills:

• Proven experience as a Machinist (4-5 years).
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and quality procedures.
• Familiarity with different material types.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.

Education:

• CSEC Certificate or Similar
• Certificate from a Technical Institute such as GTI/GUYSUCO will be an asset.

• Set up and operate machines to perform tasks such as drilling, milling, & turning.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
• Adjust machine settings to control factors such as speed, feed, and coolant flow.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards using calipers, micrometers etc.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines as needed.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and make adjustments as necessary.

Compensation is based on relevant qualifications and experience.
