Demerara Distillers Limited & Subsidiaries (DDL) is seeking applications from interested persons with the requisite qualifications and experience, for the position of Microbiologist.
The holder of this position is responsible, among other things, for:
- Acquiring samples and testing raw materials/ finished products according to sampling plan to ensure microbiological compliance
- Initiating and implementing preventative and corrective measures in the event of any microbiological issues
- Calibrating and verifying calibration of measuring and
tests equipment in accordance with documented procedures at pre-defined intervals
- Reporting and researching on findings on microbiological analyses, to show trend analysis from which corrective and preventative actions can be derived
Applicants must possess:
- A Degree in Medical Technology, with specialisation in Microbiology
- Analytical skills for microbial assessments
- Good communication, people interaction & problem-solving skills
- A willingness to work flexible hours
