Key Responsibilities
- Processing of sales transaction and operating cash register efficiently
- Ensuring a receipt is issued for every sale transaction
- Maintaining outstanding customer service
- Collect payments via cash, credit, debit, or other methods
- Assist customers with inquiries and product recommendations
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Handle merchandise returns and exchanges
- Ensuring that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining solid product knowledge and all other aspects of customer service.
- Accurately and efficiently enter purchases into cash register, maintain all cash and other forms of payment securely in the cash register.
- Must ALWAYS count cash in presence of customer and issue a receipt for every sale transaction.
- Any other task as assigned from time to time by management.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role preferred
- Basic math and computer skills
- Strong communication and time management abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least five (5) subjects CXC, inclusive of Grades 1 to 3 in Mathematics, English and Accounts
- Diploma/Degree in related field would be an asset.
- 3 years or more experience in similar role
- Must have strong customer service skills, Leadership skills and adaptability.
