Our client, a subsidiary of an international logistics company is seeking an Operations Manager for its operations in Guyana.


  • At least five (5) years of operations and logistics or supply chain experience in a managerial position
  • Strong Leadership and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with stakeholders and co-venturers.
  • Strong Supply Chain Management background with experience interfacing with Customs & Excise Division and MARAD
  • Good planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Suite.
  • The ability to delegate tasks and responsibilities.


  • Coordinate, manage, and control operations including, but not limited to administration, sales organization support, transit, shipping, and husbandry files, in collaboration with Country Manager, Branch Managers and Shipping Managers.
  • Ensure clearance of all inbound cargo, in compliance with the requisite practices, guidelines, regulations, processes and legislation of the Customs & Excise Division.
  • Liaison with MARAD regarding the vessel and related logistics activities.
  • Help define, optimize, and implement area standard and administrative processes and procedures internally and for Clients as required by operations in collaboration with CM.
  • Establish all documents, as well as the evaluation of files needed for the operations.
  • Participate in hiring and training operations staff in using internal tools to effectively produce results in collaboration with CM.
  • Monitor branch performance on operational excellence and initiate corrective measures in collaboration with CM.
  • Setting up and follow-up of the daily reporting and commercial actions to ensure quality perception and service for clients, suppliers, contractors, and external authorities.
  • Ensure strict compliance with business measures in accordance with company guidelines and inform superiors and subordinates continuously and in good times of occurrences within their scope of responsibilities.
  • Provide leadership that promotes trust, cooperation, and high levels of performance within the office and ensures social cohesion.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with administrations, stakeholders, authorities, and customers for the excellent functioning of the company’s sales and operations.
  • Negotiate with airlines and shipping lines as per the direction of the company.
