The Ministry of Health invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the vacant position of Principal Personnel Officer.

RANGE OF ACTIVITIES: –

  • Advises and informs the Permanent Secretary and other senior officials of the Ministry on all aspects of personnel practices, procedures as well as on specific cases involving staff
  • Ensure that aids for effective recruitment, viz personnel records, statistics, job descriptions, records-of-service, staff lists etc. provide Management with suitably qualified people.
  • Initiates actions for changes in personnel policies, regulations and procedures in line with policy guidelines provided by the Ministry of Public Service
  • Administers effective programmes of appraisal, training and development, and succession planning to ensure a supply of effective people for higher positions

Qualification & Experience:





  • A recognized dcgrcc/diploma in Public, Personnel or Business Administration or Management or Social Studies or other relevant filed together with a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience.
  • Public Service experience including two (2) years’ experience in the post of Senior Personnel Officer or
  • Experience in administration/personnel management including two (2) years at a senior level in personnel management.
