Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine QA/QC inspections of ongoing construction activities against approved drawings and specifications
- Perform or witness material testing (e.g., concrete slump and cylinder testing, compaction/density testing, aggregate testing) and record results accurately
- Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and verify hold/witness points are met before work proceeds
- Identify non-conformances, log Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and track corrective actions to closure
- Maintain accurate, organized QA/QC documentation, including inspection checklists, test certificates, and daily quality logs
- Monitor and maintain calibration records for site testing equipment
- Support the QA/QC Manager/Engineer in implementing the project quality plan
- Liaise with site supervisors, project engineers, subcontractors, and clients on quality-related matters
- Participate in quality walk-throughs, toolbox talks, and site quality meetings
- Flag recurring quality issues or trends to the project team
Requirements
- Diploma or Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in a QA/QC role on construction projects (civil, industrial, or building)
- Working knowledge of construction materials testing methods
- Familiarity with relevant construction codes and standards (e.g., ASTM, ACI, as applicable to the project)
- Strong attention to detail with solid documentation and record-keeping habits
