Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance on all machinery (track and wheel) and implements, e.g. vehicles.
- Service and repair all diesel and gasoline engines.
- Check and adjust the fuel injection system and tappet clearance, as necessary, to improve engine performance.
- Carry out major overhauls on diesel and gasoline engines.
- Make recommendations for fabrication and for substitutes for unavailable spares/components.
- Assist in providing on-the-job training for junior personnel.
- Adhere to all safety procedures on the job.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
Requirements
- At least Parts 1 & 2 City & Guilds Certificate.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in diesel and automotive engineering.
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Computer literate.
- Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
