Senior Contract & Claims Engineer Position Summary China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. (CAMCE) is seeking an experienced Senior Contract & Claims Engineer to support the commercial management of EPC infrastructure projects in Guyana. The successful candidate will be responsible for contract administration, variation management, extension of time (EOT), claims preparation, dispute avoidance, and commercial negotiations under FIDIC contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer EPC contracts in accordance with FIDIC Conditions of Contract.
  • Prepare and manage contractual correspondence with the Employer, Engineer, and relevant authorities.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prepare Variation Orders (VOs).
  • Prepare and substantiate Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
  • Prepare and negotiate additional cost claims.
  • Monitor contractual risks and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Perform delay analysis and maintain contractual records.
  • Support dispute resolution, adjudication, arbitration, and expert claims where required.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and planning teams to collect claim evidence.
  • Review payment applications, interim payment certificates, and final accounts.
  • Provide contractual advice to project management throughout project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in contract administration and claims management for international EPC projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of FIDIC Red Book and FIDIC Yellow Book.
  • Proven experience in:

  • Delay Analysis
  • Final Account Settlement
  • Contract Negotiation
  • Experience supporting arbitration, dispute adjudication, or mediation is preferred.
  • Experience with hospitals, airports, highways, bridges, power plants, or other infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Chartered Engineer, MRICS, PMP, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience working with Chinese EPC contractors or international consulting engineers.
  • Experience in the Caribbean, Latin America, or other overseas projects.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 scheduling and delay analysis methodologies.
  • Knowledge of NEC, ICC, or other international contract forms is an advantage.
