Key Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and verify customer documents to ensure they are complete and ready for processing.
- Prepare and process ASYCUDA entries accurately and within required timelines.
- Classify goods using the Harmonized System (HS) Code and ensure accurate tariff application.
- Communicate with customers and relevant agencies to obtain missing information or resolve documentation issues.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical records of brokerage files and supporting documents.
- Monitor the progress of declarations and shipments, providing timely updates to customers and management.
- Ensure compliance with all company procedures and applicable import and export regulations.
- Follow up with GRA, wharves, shipping agents, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the timely processing of documentation and cargo clearance.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of ASYCUDA World.
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in customs brokerage or freight forwarding.
- Sound knowledge of import and export documentation and clearance procedures.
- Ability to accurately prepare and review documentation.
- Knowledge of HS Code classification will be considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Professional attitude with a high level of integrity.
- Willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic brokerage environment.
