The Government Relations Coordinator provides executive coordination and administrative support to the Country Manager in managing the Company’s relationships with Government of Guyana ministries, agencies and regulatory authorities. The role coordinates government meetings, tracks commitments, manages regulatory action registers and supports timely government submissions. The position complements the Head of Legal by coordinating processes and follow-up but does not provide legal advice or own regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate meetings, briefings and correspondence with ministries, agencies and regulators.
  • Prepare briefing notes, presentations, agendas and meeting minutes.
  • Maintain Government Engagement and Regulatory Commitment Registers.
  • Track permits, licences, submissions and approval milestones.
  • Coordinate follow-up actions with Legal, Environment, Community Relations and Project teams.
  • Arrange ministerial visits, executive meetings and official site visits.
  • Prepare weekly action reports and monthly government engagement summaries.
  • Maintain confidential stakeholder databases and document records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Political Science, Communications or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting government relations, executive administration or regulatory coordination.
  • Mining, infrastructure or major project experience preferred.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Attention to detail and confidentiality.
