Hours flex around vessel arrival, departure and operational demands, including time before or after standard hours when a movement requires it. Key Responsibilities
- Support all tasks required to run and operate the vessel, before, during and after each movement.
- Coordinate and support port arrival, berthing and discharge alongside the operations team.
- Carry out and support vessel inspections together with operations; record findings and follow up on issues.
- Handle general vessel-management tasks as they arise, within the scope and level of the role.
- Arrange and confirm the supply of stores, materials and consumables the vessel needs.
- Count, check and record inventory on and off the vessel; reconcile records against actual stock.
- Flag shortages, damage or discrepancies early and see them resolved.
- Act as the coordination point between the operations team and the crew for vessel movements.
- Pass information clearly and early so operations and crew are aligned on timing and requirements.
- Receive, work and resolve crew issues; escalate what cannot be resolved at this level, with the facts documented.
- Prepare and support billing tied to vessel movements and services, using JSB’s billing system (Zoho Books).
- Support follow-up and collection on vessel-related amounts owed; keep records of what is billed and outstanding.
- Record and write down the work – supplies, checks, inspections, arrivals, discharges, crew matters and billing.
- Keep vessel records accurate and up to date so the operation is protected and can be reviewed.
- The Officer may be asked to carry out other reasonable duties within the scope and level of the role. JSB operates cross-functionally with shared staff, so supporting other areas when operations require it is part of the job.
