Description
The Lifting Equipment Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all lifting equipment meets safety regulations and operational standards. This role involves conducting thorough inspections, performing maintenance checks, and providing recommendations for repairs or replacements to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., lifting equipment inspection) preferred.
- Previous experience in inspecting lifting equipment or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards related to lifting equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment.
- Physical ability to perform inspections and lift heavy objects as necessary.
Working Conditions:
- May require working in various environments, including outdoor sites and manufacturing facilities.
- Potential exposure to noise, machinery, and weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
Responsibilities
- Monitoring QA/QC inspection activities
- Taking all responsibility for the inspections carried out on client sites and assigning duties to inspection personnel as necessary.
- Review weld maps for tanks.
- Review and approve written inspection procedures like RT, MT ,UT,PT, Pneumatic test, vacuum box test ,PWHT, hardness test and welding consumable control procedure, weld repair procedure, project QA plan.
- Troubleshoot any integrity inspections problem, assures that equipment and materials are properly maintained for efficient operations and reports equipment problems to QA/QC manager.
- Interpretation of Radio graphic films according to ASME ANSI B31.3 & ASME Sec 9, API 650, ASME SEC VIII.
- Witnessing Hydraulic testing, witnessing RT, MT, UT, PT, hardness testing jobs as well as evaluation of discontinuities for different types of metals and weld joints by RT, MT, UT, PT.
- Reviewing of reports according to specification and approving it
- Witnessing Welders Qualifying test and qualifying welders for different base metals, thickness and diameter ranges according to ASME Section IX
- Qualification of welders as per ASME Section IX
- Checking joints fit up to rectify any mismatch, checking joint fit ups, root and surface of joint and rectify.
- Visual inspection of welds
- Coordination of NDT activities like and evaluation of discontinuities.
- Facing external audits and closing out NCs if any. Conducts audit for contractors.
