Key Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts
  • Load and unload cargo, containers, pallets, and other freight from trucks and storage areas.
  • Move, stack, and organize cargo within the warehouse and designated storage areas.
  • Ensure cargo is handled carefully to prevent damage during loading, unloading, and transportation.
  • Verify cargo labels, quantities, and documentation before moving or storing shipments.
  • Assist with the receiving, sorting, staging, and dispatching of cargo.
  • Maintain proper placement and organization of goods to maximize warehouse space.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the forklift and report any mechanical defects or safety concerns immediately.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, warehouse rules, and forklift operating guidelines.
  • Ensure loads are properly secured and within the forklift’s safe operating capacity.
  • Report damaged cargo, discrepancies, or irregularities to the supervisor promptly.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (CXC)
  • Forklift driving experience/certification a plus
  • Training or certification in warehouse operations or logistics is an asset.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in warehouse, stores, logistics, or inventory management (preferred)
  • Excellent Communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 kg (55 lbs), or in accordance with workplace health and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
