The Internal Audit Assistant is responsible for examining segments of an audit or a minor audit under the direction of the Internal Audit Supervisor .

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists in the examination of the accounting and management systems, as well as operational procedures of the various divisions/departments/service stations/terminals within Guyoil, and reports on the findings.
  • Assists the Internal Audit Supervisor in carrying out minor audits and segments of larger audits of the accounting and management systems and operational procedures of the various locations. This involves, but is not limited to: The examination of financial accounts and supporting records using the department’s established audit program and the general audit approach consisting of approved auditing standards to determine compliance with Guyoil’s policies, procedures, and the relevant legislation of Guyana.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit reports upon completion of the assigned audit using established templates for review.

Requirements

  • CXC General up to Grade II, including English Language, Mathematics, Principles of Accounts, Information Technology, or Electronic Data Processing Management.
  • Level 1 CAT plus two (2) years’ experience in an Accounting or Financial/Operational Auditing environment would be an asset.
