ACCOUNTANT/BILLING CLERK – GTNova Freight and Logistics

The Billing Clerk will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of customer billing and related administrative activities. This position requires a high level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work closely with the Operations, Customer Service, and Finance teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and issue customer invoices accurately and within established timelines.
  • Verify that freight charges, handling fees, delivery charges, storage fees, customs-related charges, and other applicable fees are correctly reflected on invoices.
  • Ensure all applicable charges are captured and billed appropriately.
  • Match shipment records and supporting documentation to customer invoices.
  • Maintain accurate customer billing records and update account information as required.
  • Monitor outstanding invoices and assist with follow-up on overdue accounts.
  • Respond professionally to customer inquiries regarding invoices, charges, payments, and account balances.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical billing files.
  • Assist with accounts receivable reporting and month-end billing activities.
  • Ensure all billing documentation is properly filed and readily accessible.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer and company financial information.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset.
  • 1-2 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, accounting, or an administrative role.
  • Previous experience in freight, logistics, transportation, shipping, or a related industry is an asset.
  • Strong numerical and data-entry skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to identify errors and resolve discrepancies.
