This role is available to Guyanese applicants only. The Visa and Immigration Officer will assist with providing support to the Visa and Immigration Section to ensure that all required permits, such as permission to land, visa, work permits, etc., are prepared and issued correctly. The role also involves preparation and submission of documents and relative follow-ups to ensure timely execution of operations and seamless coordination with multi-agency stakeholders. Experience in Visa & Immigration processes, logistics operations, specifically in coordinating personnel movements, tracking documentation flow, and managing timelines related to immigration processes is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience working with the Ministry of Home Affairs online portal for Immigration services is an advantage
  • Ability to work with minimal instructions
  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to prioritize time-sensitive tasks to meet deadlines
  • Reviewing and collecting information required for the various applications for Visa processes
  • Assist with printing, preparing, and filing applications to the relevant Ministry for PTL, EVOA, and Work Permits
  • Preparation of NIS & GRA registration and compliance
  • Downloading and uploading files into respective folders
  • Filing complete documents in respective company folders (hard copy)
  • Preparation of endorsement packages
  • Photocopying and scanning of documents
  • Checking approval letters from relevant Ministries, scanning, and uploading them into respective folders
  • Following up with the relevant Ministry on the process status
  • Keep track of client personnel dates of arrival and departure, coordinating logistics of personnel movement to ensure seamless operations
  • Be aware of any new updates or changes from the relevant Ministry, GRA, NIS, Passport Office, and other agencies
  • Provide feedback, updates, and suggestions to management for department improvements
  • Regular visits to the Ministry, NIS, GRA, and Passport offices
  • Vetting application packages thoroughly and providing feedback to clients
  • Coordinate the logistics of document flow and personnel deployment in line with Visa and immigration requirements
  • And any other related duties

Requirements

  • Must have experience processing work permits, EVOA and PTL endorsements for Expats
  • Diploma in a related field (International Relations, Communications, Logistics, or similar)
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in Visa & Immigration, demonstrating sound knowledge of all relevant processes and protocols
  • Experience in logistics coordination, particularly in handling personnel movements, travel documentation, and scheduling for operational purposes
  • Must be familiar with the functions and key departments of GRA, NIS, and Passport Offices
  • Good understanding of the preparation of various forms for the Visa and immigration process
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
