The accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate, complete and timely accounting records for assigned companies within the Group and supporting the Finance Department in financial reporting, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, cash management, payroll accounting, inventory and fixed asset accounting, statutory compliance support, internal controls, budgeting and month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accounting records: General ledgers, subsidiary ledgers, schedules, files, and audit trails
- Process and review transactions: Record journals and adjustments, verify supporting documents, and ensure transactions are properly authorized and correctly coded
- Month-end/year-end close: Perform reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and support closing procedures
- Financial reporting: Prepare reliable monthly management accounts and supporting schedules
- Internal controls: Monitor cash, receivables, payables, inventory, and fixed assets; identify errors, unusual transactions, and control weaknesses
- Intercompany accounting: Ensure transactions between Group companies are accurately recorded and reconciled
- Planning and analysis: Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Compliance: Assist with statutory, tax, accounting-policy, and audit requirements
- Management support: Provide accurate financial information to the CFO and management for decision-making
- Process improvement: Help improve accounting procedures, controls, and chart-of-accounts classifications
Requirements
- Degree, Associate Degree, or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience , preferably in a multi-company/group environment
- Practical experience with General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and reconciliations
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Understanding of financial reporting principles
- Professional qualifications: ACCA Level 2+ is an advantage
- ACCA, CAT, CIMA, or another recognized accounting qualification completed or in progress is an advantage
- Additional desirable experience: Group-of-companies accounting
- Inventory and fixed asset accounting
- Experience in security services, heavy equipment/machinery, mining, construction, or industrial supplies
