ACCOUNTS CLERK – CCA Guyana Inc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate invoices, bills, and other supporting documentation received from vendors, customers, and clients.
  • Ensure all bills are entered into the accounting system; regularly reconcile agent accounts with statements from agents and internal records; ensure timely payments to agents.
  • Prepare cheques, cash payment vouchers, and wire transfers.
  • Post bills, cheques, cash payments, and deposits.
  • Scan and attach supporting documentation to corresponding transactions in the accounting system.
  • Collect and deposit customer payments; issue receipts accordingly.
  • File all supporting documentation in appropriate files, maintaining proper sequence and organization.
  • Respond to queries regarding payments and related issues; take messages and ensure timely resolution of customer concerns.
  • Maintain an efficient receivables and payables portfolio; follow up to ensure payments are received and made within approved timelines, updating relevant accounts accordingly.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of payables and receivables.
  • Liaise with banking representatives to resolve discrepancies in bank balances or transactions.
  • Maintain an effective petty cash impress system.
  • Perform administrative duties such as purchasing office supplies and handling correspondence.
  • Assist the Operations Team with preparing customer packages for import LCL shipments from Trinidad.
  • Ensure all accounting records, vendor files, invoices, and supporting documentation are current and properly filed.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven full-cycle accounting experience, preferably a minimum of three (3) years.
  • At least five (5) CSEC subjects or equivalent, including Principles of Accounts, Mathematics, and English.
  • Hands-on experience with Excel and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented; able to work independently and exercise sound judgment and initiative.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong team collaboration and interpersonal skills.
