ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT – Global Edge Guyana Inc

Our team is currently looking for an Assistant Accountant.

•         Bachelor’s degree in accounting & finance or completion of ACCA Applied Skills Level.

•         5 – 10 years of progressive experience; with experience in the logistics sector being ideal.

•         Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

•         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and Computerized Accounting required.

•         Strong verbal and written communications skills required.

•         The ability to work independently and time management skills are preferred.

·         Maintain and complete monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts.

·         Ensure monthly and annual financial and management statements are prepared by the close out dates for management and board review.

·         Liaise with External Auditors to ensure the timely completion of annual financial statements.

·         Provide support to CM for the determination of annual budget and monthly performance tracking.

·         Ensure the timely compilation, processing, and payment of Payroll.

·         Ensure filings of NIS, PAYE and VAT are computed and filed with the relevant regulator on a timely basis each month.

·         Provide support and advice on compliance related matters related to Guyana Taxation and Social Security Systems.

·         Provide support to appropriate department heads regarding the management of payables and receivables.

·         Develop and implement processes and procedures that are pertinent to the business’s operations and improve the system of internal control.

·         Preparation of adhoc reports and specialized statements.

·         Provide guidance and training to new team members.
