The Finance Controller shall have overall responsibility for all financial matters including accounting, financial statements, cash planning, investment portfolio management, compliance with financial aspects of legal and regulatory requirements and budgets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of financial statements and returns for insurance, tax and other regulations
- Serves as budget director by co-coordinating with relevant managers on annual budgets, including performance reviews
- Ensuring safe custody of financial assets
- Ensuring stability, effectiveness and integrity of financial systems
- To establish and maintain best practice in financial matters to ensure that these are conducted in compliance with relevant statutory requirements
- Preparation of financial reports including reports to the Board
- Attending Board meetings to deal with financial matters
- Representing the companies on relevant matters at meetings with regulators, auditors, and legal advisors
- Maintain accounts, records and minutes of, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Completion of ACCA or its equivalent
- Ten years’ working experience in finance at a senior management level
- Familiarity with insurance accounting would be an asset
- Must be self motivated and work unsupervised
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
